Happy Birthday, Emily!

Emily turned seven years old today, my how time flies. I remember when she was a little-bitty baby. Now she's seven and plenty sassy. She's turning into quite the reader and is very athletic. Emily is a sweet little girl.



Mommy made some cupcakes for school and the like, and since we are having a party on Saturday at the ancient skating rink in town, we thought we'd at least give Em a little something along the lines of candles to blow out on her actual birthday.



I found this marionette Maltese made by a guy in Midland, TX. He showed me how the puppet worked at the dog show in Big Lake, and I knew I had to buy one for Emmy. I wish now I had bought two. The puppet action of this particular marionette is excellent and very simple. I blush at the price I paid for it, six dollars, and he would sell two for a mere ten dollars. Damn the shortsidedness. She played with this toy all day long, and did not want to put it away to go to bed. That's the definiton of a good toy. I'm going to try and find this guy again, I think he could sell lots of these on E-bay.
